Adorned with natural and weather-resistant materials such as textural concrete, brushed copper and timber battens, MYKA redefines the essence of sophisticated oceanfront design.

An Iconic Form -

Composed of a sculptural upper tower and inviting ground-floor precinct, the facade has been artfully crafted to provide a purposeful and immersive living experience. On the upper levels, extensive glazing not only frames picturesque ocean views, but also bathes the interiors in an abundance of natural light. Generous corner balconies have been integrated seamlessly into the facade to provide truly uninterrupted views and generous spaces for entertaining.

What inspired the design vision?

Situated on the captivating West Australian coastline, MYKA’s design is driven by a profound commitment to harmonising with the breathtaking natural surroundings. Our vision for this project is to create a sculptural composition that seamlessly integrates with the coastal environment, offering future residents the opportunity to immerse themselves in the sheer beauty of the shoreline and the vast expanse of the Indian Ocean.

Could you describe the key materials, amenities and features?

The materials selected for this project are chosen not just to complement the tones of the shoreline but also for their durability and ability to withstand coastal elements. The apartment complex is equipped with a range of amenities that cater to the needs and desires of its residents through an understanding of oceanfront living, in particular to and from the beach.

What makes these homes uniquely special?

These homes are uniquely special due to their seamless integration with the coastal environment. This was done through the articulation of the built form, which projects the balcony space outward while still being protected from the coastal conditions and wind. While providing unobstructed views, there is a sense of protection within the enclosure. The sculptural architecture amplifies the allure of the sunset and makes these homes stand out as visual landmarks along the coastline.

In which ways do the interiors harmonise with the exteriors?

The interiors of these homes are carefully designed to complement and harmonise with the exteriors. Soaring windows and open floor-plans allow the outside environment to become an integral part of the interior spaces. The colour palette and design elements within the apartments draw inspiration from the coastal surroundings, creating a sense of unity between the indoor and outdoor spaces. Balconies and outdoor living areas serve as extensions of the living space, encouraging residents to enjoy the natural beauty of the coast from the comfort of their homes. Overall, the interior spaces are thoughtfully designed to maximise the visual and experiential connection with the breathtaking landscape outside.

Here, finishes of unprecedented quality echo the natural beauty of the surrounding coastline – durable, tactile and rich in captivating details. Throughout, stone finishes are juxtaposed with pale timber elements, fostering both an alluring sensory experience and atmosphere of calm. Each of the residences prioritises space, natural light and panoramic views, creating a sense of boundlessness and uninterrupted connections to the ocean. Appointed with considered, bespoke details such as custom dressers, bars and benchtops, Myka is distinguished by an unwavering and authentic commitment to craftsmanship.

SAND / A composition of warm tones and organic finishes, the ‘Sand’ colour scheme emulates the raw and textural beauty of the coastline, designed to evoke a sense of calm.

SEA / Tranquil yet refined, the ‘Sea’ colour scheme is underpinned by a selection of elegant cool-toned finishes, paying homage to the diverse hues of the ocean.

HEART OF THE HOME -

Myka’s kitchen transcends the ordinary confines of apartment design, presenting a culinary oasis underpinned by meticulous craftsmanship. Featuring stone materiality and a striking bladed edge, the island bench emulates the curvatures of the architecture, featuring a dramatic monolithic form that folds out to a functional breakfast bar perfect for entertaining. Seamlessly integrated timber veneer cabinetry not only elevates the aesthetic but also optimises functionality, ensuring that culinary tasks unfold with grace and ease. This includes a concealed appliance cupboard, housing a benchtop, overhead shelving and breakfast station behind stylish pocket doors. Complete with a thoughtfully designed scullery and opulent bar area, this expansive and refined setting is unmatched in its sophistication.

SCULLERY

The feature stone and timber detailing continues seamlessly through to the oversized scullery, an integral part of MYKA’s kitchen design. This feature provides not only the ultimate luxury when entertaining guests, but creates an unprecedented sense of space and a plethora of additional storage options.

CABINETRY

The kitchen and scullery feature soft-close, full-height cabinetry crafted from real timber veneer. At one end of the kitchen is an integrated Fisher & Paykel French door fridge freezer, while at the opposite end, a bespoke appliance cupboard with stone detailing and LED lighting provides elegant storage.

Miele APPLIANCES

The kitchen and scullery are appointed with handleless, integrated appliances including a state-of-the-art pyrolytic oven, combi microwave, range hood, induction cooktop and integrated dishwasher. Franke stainless steel sinks and tapware combine to create an aesthetic of contemporary sophistication.

Where artistry is reflected in every detail, MYKA is appointed with a palette of timeless and thoughtfully curated finishes. Both colour schemes incorporate elegant and highly durable stone finishes throughout the kitchen, bathrooms, walk-in robe and living room, imbuing an innate sense of luxury and refinement. Adorning MYKA’s joinery elements, timber veneers bring warmth and texture to the finishes palette, with a light-toned timber appointed to the ‘Sand’ colour scheme and a cool-toned timber appointed to the ‘Sea’ colour scheme. Finely crafted porcelain and ceramic tiles elevate the bathrooms of MYKA, lending an added layer of depth and texture. Featuring a combination of 100% wool carpets and hardy engineered timber floorboards, the floors of MYKA echo the sense of quality and sophistication found throughout the entire home, creating a sanctuary of unrivalled craftsmanship.

Ceiling & Blinds

Defined by towering proportions, MYKA boasts generous ceilings up to 3-metres high, with negative ceiling detailing features throughout. Blind pelmets with provisions for electric blinds have also been appointed.

ACOUSTICS

A seven-layered, discontinuous construction wall system achieves an acoustic rating of RW + Ctr 62, far higher than the BCA minimum requirement of RW + Ctr 50. MYKA also features insulated suspended ceilings throughout, with non-resilient fixings to reduce noise transmission between levels.

FLOORING

Direct stick, high-grade engineered timber flooring has been laid upon acoustic underlay throughout the living areas, kitchen and scullery. Large format vitrified porcelain tiles are featured across the balconies and bathrooms, while premium wool loop pile carpets have been laid on thick underlay in the bedrooms.
